    Indian Army extended its full support to the civil sector in escalating the fight against Covid-19 during the peak of second wave. Battle field nursing assistants (BFNAs) from Western Command of the army came in to help the health care workers of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences during second wave on their request. They had joined their duties in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences on 25th May 2021. They worked tirelessly, with complete dedication and shoulder to shoulder with their civil counterparts in taking care of Covid-19 positive and Mucormycosis patients. Due to decrease in the number of cases and relative decrease in the burden on health care system since past few days the, BFNAs will resume their duties back in the Army. In lieu of this, Director Principal, Bhavneet Bharti, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences invited Col Sandhu, Director, Civil Military Affairs, Western Command along with all the BFNAs to the Committee room, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences. Col Sandhu addressed the faculty members of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences and stated that “ All the BFNAs had a golden opportunity to work with the civilians and it was a great learning experience for them.” Dr. Bhavneet Bharti on behalf of her faculty members lauded and thanked all the BFNAs for their support and commendable work during these turbulent times. Dr Karan Aggarwal and Dr. Sonia added on and said that having BFNAs around helped in instilling discipline and the spirit of working in hostile conditions among all of them.
